• Push Notifications v2: Admins can now target push notifications to specific users by role or user group (more support for making and managing user groups coming soon!), schedule push notifications to be sent later, view and edit drafts of push notifications, and see stats of previously sent notifications.

• In the web app on mobile browsers, the Auth Code screen was providing the full soft keyboard instead of the number pad. Now it’s numbers all the way.

• Easier sharing of invite codes and link: You can now tap a new “Share” button next to the invite code on the Invite Code admin screen. This will pop up a new window where you easily copy the code in its raw code form, or in link form!

For Users

• There is a new “Mx.” prefix option when editing the name of an added person.
• Major accessibility improvements for our users who use screen readers.
• The Smart App Banner for iOS will remind you about the native app if you’re using the web app on your iPhone.

Improved

• The full screen pop-ups in the app are now a bit more fun to use. You can see the context behind them and you swipe them down out of the way. So swipey!
• The Rankings screen loads faster and more smoothly as you switch back and forth between tabs.

New

• Network Admin: You can now fully control and customize the My Network feature. You can decide whether new relationships are all automatically listed as one default type or whether your users can pick from a list of relationship types and you can build that list! You can also disable the feature entirely if you hate friends and family. And winning. Read more about the Network Admin screen in our knowledge base here.
• Push Notifications: Ever wish you could just get the word out to all your volunteers and encourage them to keep using Reach and contacting more voters or give them updates from the campaign? Now you can! Send push notifications to all your users right from a new admin screen!
• Invite Links: If you liked Invite Codes, you’re gonna love Invite Links! Now, every invite code also works as a link. Just add your code to the end of a URL like https://app.reach.vote/#/j/{YOUR CODE HERE} and it will allow anyone who clicks the link to be automatically added to your campaign as soon as they log in or create an account on the web app.

Improved

• Revamped Survey Question Response Options: We have reworked the way you set up and edit single choice and multiple choice survey questions. Now, you can drag-and-drop to rearrange response options and use a new “Clear All” button to start over if you don’t like how your question is turning out. You can also now edit the label of a response option without the app getting confused by previously-saved responses with the old wording. Use this to fix typos or clarify your response options without changing their underlying meaning. Also note that you can now only add additional response options in bulk – you cannot edit or remove existing responses using the bulk window.
• Response List Exports now include a “Choice ID” column which will let you map the responses that have been saved without depending on the label (which could change). These choices are UUIDs. If you don’t know what this means, don’t worry about it!

For Users

• There is now an indicator dot if you haven’t verified your email address right there on the empty campaign manager screen too.
• When you tap to resend a verification email, the link animates to let you know something is happening.
• The rankings screen will now loader faster than before and do a better job of cacheing data as you switch between rankings views.

• Scrolling on the Person Profile screen is improved.
• Some placeholder text was misaligned on Android. We’ve fixed that right up.

• The Invite Codes admin screen is now totally redesigned to better handle large numbers of invite codes and let you search, filter, and page through your codes.

For Users

New

• Edit the Names and Address of Added People: If you added someone new to Reach and then realized you made a mistake or typo with their name or address, there used to be nothing you could do but those sad days are gone! Now, using two new options on the Action Menu, you can edit the name or address of a person you added!
• Verification of Email Addresses: We want to make sure we know how to get in touch with all our users and we’re planning some upcoming Reach features that will depend on reliable, verified email addresses for the folks using the tool. So, you are now going to be asked to verify your email address by clicking a link in an email. If you have not verified, you will see a little orange dot on the Settings button in the app to remind you to do so. You can always change your email address from the Settings screen too.
• Multiple Relationship Types: Now, when you add someone to your Network, you can pick from a whole different range of relationship types. These must be enabled and set up by your campaign admins.

• Rankings screen for Reach Basics: Our Reach Basics campaigns now have access to the Rankings screen like every other Reach campaign!

Fixed

• Better, smoother loading of the Rankings screen.
• Changing your last name as a user was causing some faulty validation errors. All fixed!

New

• New Rankings Screen: The rankings screen is now more streamlined and customizable than before. A campaign can decide whether or not to show their users the “Campaign Totals” row and the leaderboard will never show more than the top 100 Reachers in a given campaign or on a given day. If you’re not seeing yourself in the top 100, you will see your own row at the top of the screen showing your currently stats and just how many more voters you need to Reach before you’ll have that top 100 glory.
• Mark as Contacted: Canvassing interactions happen in many different ways, via many different communication channels. Previously, you could initiate a text or email message to a person from the Reach app, but when if you contact them via some other method? You had no way to let your campaign know you had talked to them. Now you do! Just tap the Action Menu button next to someone’s name on their profile screen and tap “Mark as Contacted”!
• Last Reached Timer: Sometimes, it can be hard to keep track of when you last contacted a person. Not any more! Now, at the top of a person’s profile screen, under their tags, you’ll see a reminder of how long ago you last Reached them. This timer will reset any time you save survey responses for them, tap the SMS or Email button next to their contact info, or mark them as contacted outside Reach.
• View Options on Network tab: You’ll now see the “Refine” button at the top of the Network tab, allowing you to customize that view and decide whether you want to see addresses, tags, and relationship markers there.
• Relationship Markers available on all screens: Now, from the Refine Screen on Search Results or History, you can turn on Relationship Markers.

• Rankings screen for Reach Basics: Our Reach Basics campaigns now have access to the Rankings screen like every other Reach campaign!

Fixed

• The Back button from the Person Profile screen and the Household Search button were sometimes tricky to tap. Now they’re less tricky!
• If you added a relationship with someone before saving the tags you had applied, tags could be lost. That will on longer be the case.
• On desktop, the main search inputs had odd mouse behavior.
• Various other performance improvements and bug fixes.

For Admins

• For some users running iOS 13, the app would crash after the splash screen. Now it should be smooth-sailing.

New

• My Network! Good organizing is based on relationships. Now, Reach will allow you to identify your relationships with the folks you are canvassing. For campaigns with the feature enabled, you can now add people to their “network” by marking their relationship with that person. You can then browse your Network at any time using a brand new section of the My Reach screen.
• Refine your searches! Now on the search results screen and the history screen, you’ll see a new “Refine” button. This button will let you control all sorts of things about the list of people you’re looking at. You can turn on and off various information to make your view more dense or more informative, you can specify your sort, and you can even apply filters if your campaign has set them up which will allow you to only see people that match certain criteria in your list!

Improved

• Unlimited search results. We are no longer limiting your searches to the top 100 results. If there are 357 people that match your search, you’ll see all 357 of them and to keep things snappy, you’ll be able to tap at the bottom of a chunk of results to load the next chunk.
• Better support for large text sizes. If you’d set your phone to have larger-then standard text sizes, Reach will now work better and look better for you.

Fixed

• Fixed an issue where Reach would sometimes show you a red error notification about your connection when switching back to the Reach app from other apps.
• Cleaned up some permissions errors for users who have been removed from a given campaign.
• Smoothed out the registration and login process to make it easier and less likely to break.
• Various other bug fixes and performance improvements.
