1.7.0

Released March 14, 2019

So many questions to ask! You want to learn more about the people you’re reaching, so we’ve got your back. For those campaigns where just marking supporters with a 1-5 is not enough, we now support custom questions on the person profile screen! We have also now added more options for you in other areas as well. Reach now gives you more ways more ways to add new users and more ways to view a person’s profile. Ready to spread your wings?

For Users

New
  • Custom Questions support – your campaign admins can now work with us to configure as many questions as they want which will now fill your person profile screen with all sorts of new questions to ask. These include more numerical scale questions with various customizable number ranges and color schemes, multiple choice questions, single choice questions, yes/no questions, and short or long open-ended text input questions. Once your campaign admins set these questions up with us, you’ll see them appear for every person you Reach.
  • Contact Actions – once you’ve added a phone number or email address for the person you’ve reached, you’ll now see some handy dandy buttons there which will let you email them, text them, or add them as a Reach user.
  • Add User button on main search screen. We know that adding new users to Reach is key to spreading the app far and wide so we’ve made it way easier. You no longer have to tap through to the Campaign Manager screen to add new users – you can do it right from the search screen using a new button in the top right corner.
  • Each section on the person profile screen is now collapsible and expandable. Hide the sections you don’t care about and show the ones you do. The app will remember your preferences.
Improved
  • We added a loading indicator to our various screens in the Settings Menu so you won’t be left staring at a blank screen and wondering what is going on.
  • All pop-up toast notifications now include a close button so you can dismiss them right away if they’re in your way.
  • You can now pull-to-refresh your screen on the Campaign Manager, My History, and Rankings screens.
Fixed
  • The Add User pop-up is now more responsive and notifies you every time you successfully add a user.

For Admins

New
  • Custom Questions support – You can now work with us to configure as many questions as you want which will now fill the person profile screen with all sorts of new questions to ask.

1.6.2

Released February 18, 2019

Nothing major to see here, but we’ve done some big work behind the scenes to prepare for future updates. You keep talking to folks and changing the world, and we’ll keep pushing updates to the app. Deal?

For Users

Fixed
  • Users on Trial Campaigns can now see the Rankings screen
  • If you’re Reaching for lots and lots of campaigns at once, the campaign switcher is now much easier to use.
  • ‘My History’ screen looked very naked if you hadn’t Reached anyone yet. We now have some placeholder text there for you, but go Reach people! What are you doing? Sitting at home and fiddling while the world burns?
  • Searches with no search terms should now give you exactly what you deserve: nothing.

For Admins

Improved
  • Laid the groundworks for faster, more responsive updates in the future.

1.6.0

Released February 11, 2019

Welcome to February. Along with the Polar Vortex comes a Reach Feature Vortex! Ours is less frigid and more fun! When we think back a year ago today, we were out in the streets collecting signatures to get AOC on the ballot. Now we’re busting out features to help you canvass! Stay warm out there.

For Users

New
  • New Voter Profile Save Behavior – So you’ve just gathered a bunch of responses from a voter. Are they saved? Are you sure? We had heard from a bunch of you that it was too easy to forget to save things you had entered on the voter profile screen, and we just can’t have you losing precious data, now can we?
    • So we’ve redesigned the voter profile save behavior. Now, instead of each field auto-saving or saving only when you tap an easy-to-miss “submit” button, we’ve built a new “Edit Mode” into that screen. As soon as you modify anything about a voter (a question response or a contact info field) you’ll find yourself whisked away into Edit mode where you’ll see a “Cancel” button in the top left and a “Save” button in the top right. These buttons will do exactly what it sounds like they’ll do. Tap save to send your changes to your campaign and tap cancel to forget everything you’ve done and pretend it never happened. Attempt to leave this screen without saving and we’ll check yourself before you wreck yourself. Try us!
    • As a nice side-affect of this change, all your button taps on question responses will feel more immediate and won’t depend on your network connection speed.
Improved
  • Cleaned up the interface a bit to keep things in tip top shape.
  • Easier tapping! We made the touch targets of our buttons bigger and easier to mash with clumsy human fingers.
Fixed
  • In Android, user profile changes were not saving properly. They will now!

For Admins

New
  • Laid some behind-the-scenes groundwork for our next big release coming soon!
